I recently learned that natives take the hummus recipe VERY SERIOUSLY and it should not be altered by any means. If altered, please refer to it as “chickpea dip” lol.
1 cup cooked chickpeas
2 cloves garlic
1/4 cup tahini
1/4 cup cold water (optional)
juice 1/2 lemon
2 tbsp cumin
Toppings: olive oil, paprika, cumin, kalamata olives
Add all items to a blender and blend until smooth. Only add the water if you prefer creamy hummus. For thicker hummus, leave out water. Top with olive oil, cayenne, paprika and olives.
